Centre to give 90 pc funds for National Health Mission: CM

Shimla, Jan 24 (PTI) The Union government has agreed to provide 90 per cent financial assistance under National Health Mission and the state would be required to contribute only 10 per cent, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said today. At pre-plan meetings with MLAs of Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Mandi, Chamba and Bilaspur districts, he said that earlier the funding was in the 75:25 ratio and the state government would now be required to contribute 15 per cent less. The Chief Minister informed that the Centre had changed the name of National Rural Health Mission to National Health Mission so that benefit could be provided to people residing in both rural and urban areas.
